A blocked drain emergency in Crows Nest

Paul Mathews was feeling very frazzled. As the administrator of the school, he was the person in charge of general maintenance and repair works. This morning, he had received the kind of news that administrators hated the most. The entire row of bathrooms on the upper floor in ‘D’ wing was blocked!

With so many children using the bathrooms, a blocked drain was not something out of the ordinary. But, Mathews was new here and he was not acquainted with the servicepersons dealing with these repairs. He had been meaning to meet up with them, but the emergency had hit them before he had a chance. So now, he was forced to go to the plumber the school had been using all this while without knowing anything about them. It was like jumping off the cliff of the mountain – you didn’t know what was below!

Left with little choice, Mathews called the emergency plumber and briefed them of the blocked drain problem. They sounded quite nice over the phone. Their customer service impressed him because they offered to come by immediately in order to deal with the blocked drain problem at the school. Thus far, Mathews was happy with these emergency plumbers. But he knew that the true test of a plumber was in the quality of their work. Everything else was bells and whistles! He would be evaluating these plumbers on the basis of their work.

As promised, the Crows Nest plumber arrived on time. They got to work immediately. Mathews knew that it was not an easy job, clearing a blocked drain in a line that handled so much waste. There were 12 toilets in a row on each floor in each wing. There were five wings in total – a truly massive amount of waste. So, repairing something of this scale was not to be taken lightly. It was also a matter of concern that it was the middle of the week and they had to clear the blocked drain that evening itself.

But, the Crows Nest plumbers proved equal to the job. They snaked the line and cleared the blocked drain in two hours. They then used a camera to make sure that the block was completely removed. After everything was done to their satisfaction, they tested the bathrooms a couple of times.

When Mathews came down to inspect the work, he noticed straightaway that the plumbers were really very clean. He also saw that they were very diligent with the inspection. After they had wrapped up, they even offered a guarantee on the work they had done, assuring Mathews that the school could call them any time if they faced a repeat problem.

At the end of the day, Mathews had to admit that the Crows Nest plumber had passed muster with flying colours. There was absolutely nothing for him to complain about. He would continue to use this plumber in the future too – and with pleasure.
