A sudden hot water heating emergency in Crows Nest

Diane and Jake had moved into their new home a month ago. They had liked the house in Crows Nest very much, particularly because of the huge Jacuzzi bathtub in the basement of the house. They knew that the kids would love splashing in the Jacuzzi. They also intended converting the spare bedroom on the top floor into a home gym. So, a Jacuzzi would definitely come handy.

But, one of the first things they noticed after moving in was that their heater did not have the capacity to heat enough water for the Jacuzzi. The water was lukewarm at best. not what you wanted from your Jacuzzi experience by a long shot!

At that time, Jake had mentioned something about checking for a built in water heater. But what with moving in and the children’s new school, he did not get a chance to check the in-built water heater, with the result that they had not used the Jacuzzi even a month after moving in.

It being a Saturday, Jake had finally decided to investigate the built in hot water heater unit. He had researched the particular make and model of the Jacuzzi, and he had a fair idea of what he needed to do. He turned the jets on for the first time but was dismayed when a thick mass of black flakes came out of the Jacuzzi.

“Gosh, Jake, just let it go, will you? Why don’t you call a plumber for things like this?”

He knew that Diane was right. He did not want to blow up the darn thing!

But, since they were new to the place, Jake did not really know how to go about finding a good plumber. Once bitten, twice shy is what they said, and that was exactly what Jake was feeling. He did not want a plumber who might make the same mistake as him.

That afternoon, Jake went to his next door neighbour to enquire about a good plumber. It must have been his lucky day because a Crows Nest plumber was at the neighbour’s house that very minute.

“It’s my lunch break. So, I’ll just take a look at it if you’d like,” the plumber offered.

Jake was delighted. The plumber opened the unit and checked the wires.

“Tough luck. There’s a wrong connection here and the hot water system overheated and blew up. You’ll need a new unit if you want it to work,” the plumber said.

Jake agreed to purchase a new hot water system that evening. The plumber left his card and asked Jake to give him a call when he wanted the unit fixed.

On Monday morning, Jake called the plumber and asked him to come over whenever he was free. The plumber turned up in an hour and a half. He fixed the new unit and turned the Jacuzzi on. Jake was delighted to see that the red light indicator had come on for the first time and that the water was getting heated. At last, they could start using the Jacuzzi, thanks to the prompt intervention of the plumber.

Jake liked this plumber. In the plumber’s card, Jake had noticed that these plumbers took care of all sorts of plumbing emergencies in Naremburn, St Leonards, Wolstonecraft, North Sydney, Waverton, Cammeray and Neutral Bay. He now understood why they were so much in demand.
